Welcome to the website of the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA)! KMEA is the state organization of the National Association of Music Education: The Music Educators National Conference (MENC), which represents more than one hundred-twenty thousand members.

We believe in the importance, the necessity, of music in the life of every American, young and old. We believe that quality music instruction, provided by trained music educators, should be a vital part of every child’s formal education; and that the result of such music instruction should be life-long participation in musical activities which improves the quality of life for all citizens.

To that end, KMEA provides services, professional development opportunities, and performance events for our two thousand members and the thousands of constituents they serve. We are committed to our mission—“to advance the cause of music education throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky by encouraging the study and making of music by all of the population and by serving as a strong advocate for issues affecting the accomplishment of that mission.” We invite you to join us in the endeavor.
