Audition
Directions |
Failure to follow these directions WILL result
in the audition tape or CD being removed from the process. |
- Each
student must audition on a NEW tape or CD accompanied
by the audition
form and a $6.00 audition fee that is included in
one check per school.
- Label
each tape or CD with school name and student name.
- The
music teacher must conduct auditions. Please be selective
by
taping
and
sending
only your best singers. Please
do not waste the time of the
audition committee by sending in tapes you would not
want to hear!
- Atmosphere – Please
avoid a noisy setting.
- After
the audition has begun, no talking on the tape except
for selection identification. Talking to students will
nullify the audition. You can teach the patterns before
the recording. There is no rule stating you cannot prepare
your students!
- Teachers
may NOT play or sing the student's
part. This will also result in disqualification. Piano must not assist student on
prepared solo.
- Follow
taping directions for melodic and harmonic patterns in
the audition procedures.
- Prepared
solo comes AFTER the melodic and harmonic patterns. Remember – solo must be performed
as written: solo
voice with piano accompaniment.
- After
completing the audition, please
listen to the tape or CD to make certain the audition
has been recorded.
