Prepared selection instruction: Measures 1–40. The piano begins at measure 1, student enters
at measure 9 and sings Part I through measure 40, including the unison section in measures 30–32. . No student should sing Part II, nor should anyone sing Part II, while the student is singing Part I. The audition tape should only include the piano and the student singing part I.

| Instructions for audition tape/CD |
Start
tape/Cd and record the following statement:
"This is (student's name) from (school).
The music teacher is (teacher's name)
and we are in KMEA district (number)."

Melodic Echo Instructions |
| Teacher plays patterns 1-7, one at a time and
student echos patterns back on "loo". Echo must be a cappella.
Student must echo without teacher's help. |

Harmonic Pattern Instructions
(2 measure pattern) |
| •Teacher
says, "upper part" - give the student the upper starting
pitch (A) and play the bottom part on the
piano while the student sings the upper part on "loo". |

says "lower part" - give the student the lower starting
pitch (F#) and play the upper part on
the piano while the student sings the lower part on "loo". |

Click on the KCC Audition Form link
and an Excel package will open. Complete the yellow cells on the Audition Form tab. The
Invoice, Student, and Spreadsheet tabs will automatically
be populated. |

Save
this form. Click on “File” in toolbar and then select “Save As.” Re-name the workbook as “KCC
Audition for (your School)”. Click “Save.”

Type
your information in the yellow fields.

4. |
Use upper and lower case letters. Do NOT use All Caps. |

Type
the names in the order that the students are recorded
on the audition tapes/CDs. |

Information required for each student:
- First and last name as will appear in the concert program and on certificate
- Grade level
- Shirt size in youth or adult size
(YM, YL, YXL, AS, AM, AL, AXL, AXXL, etc)

the Invoice Form with check for total audition fees

KCC Coordinator home by November 3, 2011. No Exceptions!
