• Final proposal passed by the KMEA Board
• The 2009 State Solo and Ensemble Festival will be held on May 16
• The site will be in Richmond on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University and in Bowling Green on the Campus of Western Kentucky University
• State Solo & Ensemble Festival is for high school students, only.
• Students must play a selection from the required list to qualify (if UIL list, must use "Grade 1").
• Students must play from the required list at the State Solo & Ensemble Festival.

  • UIL Grade 1 WW Solos & Ensembles in Excel
  • UIL Grade 1 Brass and Percussion Solos & Ens. in Excel

• Chorus/Vocal
• Orchestra/Strings

• Student will hand this form to district-level adjudicator at the time of the performance of the soloist or ensemble
• Adjudicator will mark and sign the recommendation on both sections and return this form to the Festival Manager with the Adjudicator Form
• Festival Manager will return School Section to director with Adjudicator Form
• Director will copy all RECOMMENDED forms for his/her records
• Director will mail RECOMMENDED forms with $13 per solo and $10 per ensemble, plus $3 per ensemble member to KMEA, PO Box 1058, Richmond, KY 40476-1058
• Festival Manager will email a Solo and Ensemble Registration Form to jaclwalker@aol.com and lisa@kmea.org containing information about all recommended events at his/her festival
• Festival Manager will forward the Application Section of all RECOMMENDED forms to Jack Walker, State S & E Festival Manager, 3034 Forest Springs Dr, London, KY 40744
• KMEA will confirm payments to Jack Walker, authorizing him to schedule the events
